2011 Game Schedule

The 2011 World Championship groups have been announced by the IIHF

In Group A - USA, CAN, SLO, SVK

In Group B - CZE, SWE, FIN, GER

IN Group C - AUT, AUS, GBR, RSA

In Group D - CRO, HUN, JPN, NZL

The preliminary schedule for GB is Game 1 on 19/06/11 @ 13.00 vs Australia, Game 2 on 20/06/11 @ 17.00 vs Austria and Game 3 on 21/06/11 @ 13.00 vs South Africa.

Unlike in previous years the fourth day will be a rest day for all teams and the medal rounds will start on the fifth day, promotion will be given to the B pool team that wins the B pool gold medal.

First Training Session

The campaign for the 2011 Inline world championships started on Saturday 20 of November at Skate Central in Sheffield, 28 specially scouted and selected players were invited to the first elite team training session, there will be further elite training sessions before Coach Andy Silitoe and his coaching team select the final 14 players to represent GB in the Czech Republic in June 2011, the this is only the start on what will be a long road to next years championships however this years Team Great Britain will be the best prepared they have ever been.

GB New Coach

Nick Crawley has decided to step down as coach of the national his leaves the team in the best postion possible and he will be sorely missed by the whole of the squad and the rest of the management alike, this has not been a sudden desision for Nick and has been brought about by an ever increasing workload at his day time job. Nick does not leave the team in limbo however, all the management team ensure they have replacements before they step down in their relevent capcities. Nick's postion will be filled by Andrew Silitoe who creditals are vast , he played on the National team between 1998-2008 and has been involved in inline in many guises over the years including coaching
