Game 1

TeamTeam GB skated to what was a comfortable win racking up 16 goals to Bulgaria's single score.

This game was not without its drama as the team were actually behind for nearly an entire period

Team GB dominated play from the first puck drop, however the Bulgarians went onto the scoreboard first with breakaway goal early on in the first period for the rest of the first period GB pressured the Bulgarians throughout the rest of the first period however at times were a bit too eager, near the end of the first period the Bulgarian's took a hooking penalty which meant Team GB were on the powerplay for the second period and it was just 13 seconds into this period that Phil Hamer made the extra man count assisted by assisted by Sam Jones and Nathan Finney a mere 16 seconds later Dan Hutchinson put GB ahead, move on another 41 seconds and Karl Niamatali made it a 3-1 game when Sam Jones scored the next goal one and a half minutes later the game was in effect over and Bulgaria changed up their netminder. Team GB scored another 3 mores goals in this second period with goals coming from Nathan Finney, Dan Hutchinson and Rob Shelton to go into the half time break 7 to 1 up.

The team totally settled down in the second half scoring a further 9 goals. It was good to see that all three lines contributed to the scoring in this game with goals and assists spread widely throughout the squad Danny Hutchinson and Nathan Finney had dream games Dan with 3 goals and 3 assists and Nathan with 3 goals and 4 assists however this was a total team effort highlighted by the fact that 27 assists were award on the 16 goals that were scored.

This game allowed the team to gel into a complete unit, what was good to see was that the teams three rookies easily settled into the job at hand and every player on the team contributed to a thoroughly dominant win

Assistant Coach Appointment

Team GB are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Hehir as the assistant coach for Team GB, Simon played on and captained the team for seven years between 2003 and 2009 and is still the 2nd highest point scorer of all time for Team GB and the highest point scorer ever for a defence man.

His experience in both Inline and ice hockey will be invaluable in guiding the team to a successful championship.

 

World Championships 2014

Team GB vs Czech game time change's again

Due to Czech TV commitments Team GB's preliminary round game schedule has changed slightly, all the game have brought one hour forward so now GB's first game will be against last years A pool gold medal winners Team USA at 13.00 on the 1st of June, then it will be Slovakia @ 15.00 on the 2nd and then the hosts the Czech Republic @ 18.00 on the 3rd (this game will broadcast live throughout the Czech Republic on TV) All the games will also be broadcast free on the internet so make sure you follow the boys

Qualifiers

Latvia and Brasil are the two teams that will fill the final two slots in Pool B.
