Team GB picked the most important game of the championships to settle down and play the hockey they know how to play , throughout this game Team GB looked composed and confident on the puck.
Scoring was opened by Matt Viney who put the puck under the netminders pads this opener was assisted by Kurt waller with only 4:26 on the clock, at 5:45 Danny Hutchinson put another past the Japan keeper assisted by Nathan Finney, Japan got their first goal in the second period Team GB went into the third period on the powerplay and used it to their advantage and scored another goal (scored by Finney assisted by Jack Clarkson and Richard Walsh) Each team scored one more goal in the third period with Niamatali scoring GB mark assisted by Shelton and Hamer. There was no scoring in the final period which GB dominated and control the play throughout.
